Kelli,
We have a nice selection of lavender plants. We also have a lovely gift shop filled with soaps, creams, sachets, dried lavender and other lavender themed gifts. During the bloom season we
have fresh cut lavender for sale (late June-mid July and throughout the summer).
Susan
How are you doing! I want to take my pre-wedding pics on your field, but i don’t know when is the best time go there that i can catch the lavender open season? And do you have any party favor that made of lavender?
Dear Joan,
Our English lavender usually starts to bloom mid to late June. This is usually followed by our long stemmed lavender the first two weeks of July. Just be aware that we are not in control of the beginning of the bloom time.
We charge a $150 site fee for photo shoots for the first 1 1/2hour. There will be additional fees after that. You must make an appointment, Mon.-Fri. only.
We have simple sachets that can be used as party favors. They are 4 for $10. I can also do custom made sachets as well.
Hi Susan,
I wonder if June is considered as Summer month since I wanna visit the farm with my family on weekday. And is there any fee for entrance or parking lot?
On behalf of the Barrington Community School of Rhode Island, I’d love to visit your farm!
May I be so bold as to suggest the following? Would it be possible for me to demonstrate the making of a Lavender Wand to the patrons of our group with the understanding that they would be able to harvest their own stems to create their own wands?
All depending on weather, harvest and…your approval, of course.
Dear Patricia,
It would be possible to come to the farm during the July bloom season with a group. When the lavender is blooming we have cut bunches for sale as well as u-pick. You would be welcome to demonstrate to your group the making of wands as long as you bring the necessary supplies.
Please contact me when you have more concrete plans for your visit.
Sincerely,
Susan
Having a lavender farm has long been a dream of mine. Yours is quite beautiful and you did a nice job on the gift shop.
What is the protocol for painters? I might like to try painting the fields one day during the week between Tuesday, June 28 and Thursday, June 30. Can amateur photos be taken for future reference? Thanks.
Susan,
Painters are welcome to visit the fields and paint. There should be some English lavender left in the field. The long stem lavenders should be beginning their bloom. You are welcome to snap some photos in order to complete your work at a later date.
Sincerely,
Susan
Would love to visit the farm. Couple of questions…I live in Manhattan…is there a train that gets close to your farm? I’m not a professional photographer, but would love to visit and take some snapshots. Is there still a charge? Thank you!
You can take the LIRR to Greenport and then call for a taxi. There are only a few trains each day. We are about 3 miles from Greenport. I believe the Hampton Jitney also travels to the North Fork. To get around the area it is better to come with a car.
There are wineries, farm stands and beaches in the area but you need a car to get around. Take a look at http://www.northfork.org .
On weekends and holidays we have had to limit time in the field to 20 minutes due to limited parking. There is no charge to take some snap shots and we hope you will find something in our farm shop to take home with you.
Sincerely,
Susan
is the lavendar field still beautiful on July 10, 2011 because we are traveling from new jersey ( about 3 hours ) to your place,
if not then we will wait for next year, tks. please let me know.
Dear Jennifer,
The long stem lavenders started to bloom this past weekend. They are usually good for about 3 weekends.
Please be aware that we harvest our lavender during the bloom time in order to dry it. I can give you more information about the fields as we get closer to the date of your planned visit.
As I told to in our phone conversation we have found the need to limit the time in the field to 20 minutes due to limited parking
and increased number of visitors.
If you are driving 3 hours to visit us then my suggestion would be to also find other things in our area to do. Take a look at http://www.northfork.com to learn more about things to do on the north fork of Long Island.
Sincerely,
Susan
Thank you for your interest in our lavender field. This weekend will be the third weekend of the bloom and most of the lavender will have been cut for drying. There will still be some rows left for u-pick bunches.
Sincerely,
Susan
Lavender by the Bay
Dear Jack,
We are happy that you want to visit the farm. Our plants have been blooming for almost 4 weeks now. Most of the flowers have been harvested. We do have a picking area and a viewing are of approx. 20 rows. From far away they look fine but close up they are loosing their color. The flowers are still very fragrant.
Our English lavender will bloom again late August early September. This lavender is just a small part of our field. You can call later on for bloom updates.
Sincerely,
Susan
Hi, I visited the farm with a friend last year and bought a print that was done by Y. Epstein. I really wanted to buy another, but I will not be visiting this year. Is there any way to view her prints online, or does she bring them to any of the greenmarkets in the city?
Gina,
So glad you are enjoying the art print. At the moment they are available only in our shop. Let me give it some thought. Perhaps we can find a way for you to see
more of them.
Sincerely,
Susan
WoW, Pictures look amazing!! I’ve bought your lavender at the green markets and love it, cant wait to visit the farm!!!
Hey, if I want to take my pre-wedding pictures there, is there a serivce fee or entrance fee?
Dear Joyce,
During the bloom season there is a $150 site fee for professional photographers. This is for 1 1/2 hours.
Sincerely,
Susan
Do you sell lavender plants or strictly cut lavender? Your farm is gorgeous!

I plan to visit on Aug 20. I want to know could I see the blooming lavender in that time?
Dear Chloe,
There’s not much blooming at this time. Just a small part of young plants in bloom. More to come in the next two weeks.
Susan
Hi Susan,
When do you think I can able to see the blooming levender and how much is the cost?
Dear Leo,
There is very little lavender blooming at this time. Unfortunately the rain and winds have cut short the bloom.
Sincerely,
Susan
